  • Extremely reliable car !

This little car deserves solid 5* rating. Dont trust other pay-to-review website low rating score. Our 2012 prius c just reached 160k miles with ZERO mechanic issue. Only have to perform oil change, transmission fluid change, and tire replacement. Yes, the little c is small and little bit slow. BUT the insane gas mileage and extreme reliability really outweighs the disadvantages.
  • Terrific fuel efficient small car

I’ve owned my Prius C for a little over 4 years and I love it as much today as I did the day I bought it with cash from an insurance settlement on our rear ended and totaled Lexus. I wanted a smaller, more basic car with great gas mileage and liked the cute styling of the Prius C. Compared to other models I tried, it felt more solid and the sound system was excellent. It drove well and had decent acceleration for the frequent 3 hour driving trips I take. I’m superstitious enough to say Knock Wood here, but I haven’t had a bit of trouble with it and the maintenance cost has been extremely low. The only thing I wish I had gotten if it was available at the time is the back-up screen display. I’ve backed into things a couple of times, totally my fault. The ride is not as quiet as the Acura that my husband now drives, but it’s not annoying. Last but not least, I’ve never paid more than $19 to fill the tank and I don’t need to fill it any more often than I did the Acura TL at more than twice the cost. I will never go back to a gas only automobile and am considering electric only for my next vehicle if I can find one reasonably priced with a 250 mile range.

I am 48 years old and one entry in my bucket list goes "Drive a hybrid car" before I am no longer capable of driving. I did interviw a lot of taxi drivers driving the larger Pruises and it was interesting to note that none of them had any negative comment about their vehicle. They give the Prius very high regard for driver comfort, reliability and its long lasting battery (most of them have clicked over 100K miles) and just like that pink bunny...it just keeps going..and going!! This pretty much added to my desire to get one. Then the vehicle gods gave me a better option with the youngest member of the Prius brood. The "C" variant. So far I am averaging 54mpg. So far so good! I got the top-of-the-line model Prius C. It has all the bells and whistles you'll find in a luxury car like push button start. The built in Navigation system and hands-free blue tooth connectivity is top notch! The many ways the car's computer tells you how much gas you are consuming (or saving) and the throng of other infotainment at your fingertips is just mind blowing! (They say this model was brought in from Japan as CBU) On the downside, it may be not that responsive coming from a stop light (this is not good for people who jack-rabbit start). As they say - this car was built for mpg, not mph. But on the upside - my wife now has better peace of mind knowing that I spend less time on the fast lane =) Thank you vehicle gods! One less entry in my bucket list.
